About Us

Hi, I’m Thomas Sahm. As a dedicated pet owner with dogs, cats, and snakes, I understand the challenges of finding trustworthy care, especially for pets with medical issues or disabilities.

With over 15 years of experience working with animals, my passion for animal welfare began during my time at the University of Alabama, where I served on the board of the Alabama SPCA. Following the devastating tornado of April 2011, I helped relocate dozens of animals from the Tuscaloosa shelter to make space for displaced pets. Over the years, I’ve fostered and adopted out more than a hundred animals.

After graduating from the University of Alabama, I continued my commitment to animal welfare, eventually working at Tuscaloosa Metro Animal Shelter as the Intake Coordinator and Office and Programs Manager. My experiences there deepened my understanding of the needs of our local animal community.

I founded Furfect Pet to provide a trustworthy pet care service in our community, where pet owners can have peace of mind knowing their animals are in capable hands. Unlike generic platforms, we emphasize character and reliability, ensuring the highest standard of care. Furfect Pet also aims to give back by supporting local animal rescues and shelters, and by offering fair compensation to our pet care staff, we ensure they can focus on delivering exceptional care for your pets.
